About:
This is still one of my favorites ^_^ Kenshin is awesome. In fact, I have the same poster of him hanging in my room ^^x

Unlike the past layouts, this one is sort of darker in theme, which was exactly what I was looking for. The red sunset adds color to what would normally be a neutral design. It took me what seemed like forever to find the pictures, then modify them the way I wanted to. But it was worth it :)

The blog style, having the navigation on the side and the content in a separate area, was nice. Since the picture was large, I used tables along with an inline frame to load each page faster. Overall, it worked out well. Plus, it was easy to add links to, which is always a good thing. I began to post updates on the main page (just below the welcome message in the picture above), which I had never done before for some reason. Hmm, should’ve done that from the start.

This version was trickier than any of the previous ones. For one, the picture of the sunset in back of Kenshin had to be altered. There were two silhouettes in the original that I had to remove, and along with them, part of the mountain. Then I took the unaltered side of the mountain and made it match up to the side I removed. Bet you couldn’t tell! Secondly, Kenshin was taken from another picture and placed on top of the new background. I wasn’t very skilled with this at the time and it shows. Some of the edges, particularly around the hair, look jagged. But it’s really not that noticeable. I should have used layers when working with PSP, but at the time, I had never worked with them. That would change later on.

Since this picture of the main character was taken from one of the OVAs, or movies, and not the Rurouni Kenshin TV series, the animation is slightly different. One of the main differences between the two is that Kenshin has a cross-shaped scar in the TV series, but only a single scar in the movie. I wasn’t sure if any of my guild members had seen the movie so I transplanted a scar from another picture onto his cheek! I wonder how many people actually noticed? It looks perfect and I laugh every time I think about it!

I chose to use the brush script font for all the script writing. The text along the right side, "Version 4 Rurouni Kenshin", looks so elegant and blends nicely into the background. For once, the website looked seamless. Also, I added some grunge effects to the background picture. This was new to me, using psp brushes that is, so I didn’t go wild with it. I stuck to what looked nice and kept it simple.

Version 4 was the first one to appear on its own domain, animezenith.com. Finally, I had my own web space and it made all the difference. It gave my guild a feeling of importance. With literally hundreds of thousands of guilds on Neopets, very few have personalized domains for their website. I felt so proud of Anime Zenith, and I still do to this day!!

There really isn’t anything I don’t like about this version. The only thing I would possibly change would be the way I blended the picture of Kenshin to the background. Other than that, it’s perfect!
