About:
I had just founded Anime Zenith Guild and was really excited to put my web designing to the test! So searching around for pictures, I finally came across Usada (aka Rabi-en-Rose) from Di Gi Charat. At the time I hadn’t seen or read anything about DGC but I fell in love with the cutesy style and colors ^^ I was new to making image maps too (seen on the left; "Jobs", "Allies", etc.) and was quite pleased when everything worked right! This layout was also the most graphics heavy I had ever done at the time so it really made me happy to see things look seamless. There is one detail missing in this screen cap. Where the content loads, in the middle, the background is gone and I can’t for the life of me find it anyway! Oh well.

As it says above under address, this layout was first featured on an Angelfire site. For those of you who aren’t familiar with Angelfire, they’re a free web hosting service. Needless to say, I had banner ads coming out of my ears! :P The scourge of the online world! Even though I hated putting up with the ads, I did learn a lot about web hosting from Angelfire, and for that I thank them. One other thing that I didn’t like was the size of the content area. As you can see in the picture, I had a very narrow area to write in. If I wrote more than would fit, the area would scroll to accommodate the text, but it still looked crammed all the time.

The image map posed a bit of a problem. Whenever I created a new page I would have to go and edit the left picture to create a button. Then I had to update the html on all the pages. This made things a hassle when I had to add new links. Yikes!

Cute, eye pleasing, seamless – I loved this layout. To this day it has a special place in my heart. But the banner ads and difficulty adding new pages caused me to redesign something a little different...
